Hi, Recently moved from Houston to Waco. I have a R1200R, and it had been sitting for a year.. It’s not starting, and i need some recommendation on who might work on it near by.

    1. Hello Paul,

Dave Barnett here, co-webmaster with HCBMWR- thanks for your query.

There are a number of options for BMW service in the Austin area and, as always, there are a number of opinions as to which is the best. For starters there is the authorized BMW dealer at N !H35 and Braker Ln., Woods Fun Center which is pretty much the only option for factory authorized warranty service in the Austin metro area although some riders prefer to use Alamo BMW in the San Antonio area. Two other options are Cuzn Bobs and Austin Moto Works. I have used both of them and was pleased with both. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Cuzn Bobs due to the one on one customer experience…. when you go to Bobs you talk to Bob. Cuzn Bob has a very informative website as does Austin Moto Works.

The “Member’s Forum” on the HCBMWR website is a great place for questions of this nature and many other topics of general interest to BMW riders and I would encourage you to consider a membership at this time.

      Cheers,

      Dave

  2. Paul… it now dawns on me that info on BMW service in the Austin area might not have much relevance for the Waco area. My next best advice is to go on the Member’s Forum on the BMWMOA website. The MOA website is a storehouse of information on all BMW related matters including “off the radar” service providers. Hope this helps. Dave
